Social media platforms and online networking have fast become an integral part of the 21st century marketer’s promotional mix. Discuss how to turn the tools to your advantage with a group of experts.
Hi Walter, The three platforms have many differences. I would focus on LinkedIn, as it is the world’s largest B2B business networking platform. You can share blogs, articles, media coverage and hints and tips there – however – sales come from 1:1 messages with buyers. People are on LinkedIn to find new jobs and promote their enterprises, so the…[Read more]
Hi Steve, Thanks for your feedback and it is always nice to receive a response. 🙂
PS When you have had a chance to implement this idea with your LinkedIn profile, please let me know.
LinkedIn messages are another way of reaching people. My advice is to ask open questions in order to get a conversation started. Sales messages are likely to be ignored.
Here are some Twitter tips:
* Tweet something every day
* Your Tweets should be interesting, useful, helpful and timely
* Share your blogs via Twitter
* Ask open questions and see if they generate a response
* The first three words that you write are important, as they will either catch attention or fail to do so

I have just sent my 10,000th Tweet. 🙂 If you look at your Twitter profile via the Twitter smartphone app, the number of Tweets that you have sent appears at the top (in a very small font size).
There appears to be a correlation between the number of Tweets that a person, company, charity or brand has sent and the number of Followers that they have.
What is your LinkedIn strategy?
Is your Profile up-to-date?
Who are you trying to connect with there?
Are you using their 1:1 messaging system?
Do you ever write an article within LinkedIn?
How often do you post within the timeline?
How often do you login to LinkedIn?
What sort of results are you getting?
What is your strategy on LinkedIn? How often do you login? Do you have the LinkedIn app on your smartphone? Who are you trying to connect with? Does LinkedIn work for you?
The only way for me is using the My Most Trusted chrome extension.
Invite 100 every week, roughly 30% accept.
They are warmed up with captivating one liners and then extracted into Mailchimp for long term campaigns.
My Most Trusted (MMT) is a chrome operating APP that invites 100 prospects a week. That requires a little diligence, maybe 30 mins a week. Its the set up that takes time. So for example, my next campaign is designed to target Estate Agents that accept a little education to move towards business cards that change all the time after print. This…[Read more]
If you comment regularly within LinkedIn, you will receive more visits to your Profile. If you comment throughout the day and keep this going for several days, you will receive inbound messages. In turn, this will give you the opportunity to have conversations with people who have a need for your product or service. Feedback, anyone?
I discovered a new linked in feature today.
A short elevator pitch video on your main profile.
Go to my profile https://www.linkedin.com/in/wnicholls
Click on my photo and at the top it says cover.
From there you drop down to a QR code for your smartphone.
A video app pops up. Make your 30 second video and send to your profile.
LinkedIn connection requests – what to include in your message.
What do you write to someone that you don’t know?
Checklist of ideas including:
* Make the message about them, not about you.
* Mention something that you noticed about them or their organisation, within the connection request message. https://bit.ly/2PdMRGT
I am now in a frenzy of posting blog items (well a bit), would people have a look at the style, tone and overall feel? Feedback would be useful before I add more items.
I can see that you have been working hard at this Ken! I think that the Blog page looks very good. The two building images are not quite lining up; this may be to do with image sizes. I suggest that you have a standard featured image size. Some of the images look a little blurred when you click through, i.e. the eventbrite story (the latter needs…[Read more]
Yes, I like the writing style. Try to keep those sentences as short as possible. Some of the text could be broken up in shorter paragraphs. Read the copy out loud. Review any parts that make you stop and think: what did that mean?
Q. Is it a good idea to have a blog?
A. Yes, it is, as it can help your search engine rankings, feed your newsletter and generate sales enquiries.
Q. Where is the best place to have a blog?
A. Inside your website, as every time you blog, you will increase the size of your site and demonstrate to the search engines…[Read more]
I was asked about how I use Instagram by someone who is about to start using it for their business. These work for me: post your photos / short videos, those that relate / are relevant to what you do, say something interesting about them, perhaps ask a question if pertinent, add a selection of relevant hashtags either in the main post or in a…[Read more]
I’ve not used stories yet, but have seen that this is clearly another way to engage – I’d be interested in other peoples experiences with Instagram – thanks
Hi David, Thanks for sharing this: most interesting. In general terms, for small businesses, I have found that Instagram is good news for B2C (Business to Consumer) enterprises. Clearly, images are a big factor on Instagram and it helps if you have an eye for this.
PS I like your point about engagement and I think this is a big factor that many…[Read more]
There are two social media strategies: Broadcasting and Engagement. The former includes sharing blog entries and other forms of content. The latter includes Likes, Comments and Shares. In order to get other people to engage with you, ask open questions and then respond when they interact with your social media posts.
It is a good idea to use both…[Read more]
