By updating your current Google Analytics tag (analytics.js) to the latest tag (gtag.js), you will benefit from:……
    Nigel
Do you know what the tags do and whether I need one?
    Brian

    • Hi Brian, The short answer is that ‘yes’, it would be a good idea to make the update.
Let’s start with Google’s technical explanation:
The global site tag (Gtag.js) is a JavaScript tagging framework and API that allows you to send event data to Google Ads, Campaign Manager, Display & Video 360, Search Ads 360 and Google Analytics. Gtag.js makes it…[Read more]

Just to confirm a marketing activity for TMC members, rather than a question, but I am sure you will have some reactions….

Since I developed and launched Green Building Calculator v.1.0.0. (GBC) https://GreenBuildingCalculator.uk during Covid-19 I have been getting lots of interest in LinkedIn, facebook and Twitter.
I have numerous awards for p…[Read more]

    • Thank you for sharing this, Brian. This is all good news in that, as you say, awards create PR opportunities as well as social media content. In addition, they add credibility to your brand and products.

  • Hi Nigel
I have had a few email enquiries about Green Building Calculator https://GreenBuildingCalculator.uk
They are asking detailed questions which need detailed Answers
I am doing this by email but I think this will be useful for all prospects
I want to add them to the GBC website (which you created)
I would not want to mess with your sitemap…[Read more]

    • Yes, there is room for an FAQ navbar item. However, do bear in mind that striking up email ‘conversations’ may lead to more sales at this stage.

On the same subject do you think paying for a page of editorial is worth while?

  • BrianSpecMan posted a new activity comment 1 month, 1 week ago

I guess you are paying a lot towards wages and printing, catering, posh room rental, etc. better spent on the marketing, press release, copyrighting, etc.

This is obscure I think. Green Apple Awards offer an ambassadors opportunity, pay a lot and get a badge, go to House of Parliament awards ceremony (2 tickets) go to a Green Worlds Ambassador trophy ceremony, Paper included in Green World Awards. Paper included in Green World Award Book distributed to many institutions, libraries, and 500,000 by…[Read more]

Great answer. O well more work, in between other jobs, or when I am having a blockage moment in the GBC spreadsheet and need a break.

Yes I like the open ended question idea

I keep meaning to ask you, what more can I do with those Long Tailed Keyword Phrases, but that may need a whole seminar to explain

    • Create an alphabetical list of your keyword phrases.
(I store mine in Google Drive).
Write a blog for each phrase.
Use the phrases within your website and use anchor text links between blogs and pages.

    • Great answer. O well more work, in between other jobs, or when I am having a blockage moment in the GBC spreadsheet and need a break.

  • In recent Zoom meeting we discussed what is and is not working in our marketing activity, I seem to have concentrated on what is not working, “Only me”.
Today I will focus on the what is working: LinkedIn was a chosen place to mention the launch of GBC V1.0.0. and it generated a lot of discussion, enthusiasm for what will come in future ver…[Read more]

    • Choose a time to post within social media when you know that you will have the time to react to Likes, Comments and Shares. The more you interact, the greater the traction. Don’t just Like a comment – write a reply and ask open questions, which cannot be answered by a yes or no.

    • Yes I like the open ended question idea

  • I would just like to let you know that Green Building Calculator V.1.0.0. https://greenbuildingcalculator.uk is now only 3 months old and has already won a Green Apple Award 2020 and a UK Regional Award 2020-21.
Just to say thank you for creating the GBC website: it has helped the calculator to get noticed so quickly.
V2.0.0. is only 5 weeks away.

    • Well done, Brian and thank you for your kind words. You deserve recognition for what you are doing. I look forward to talking to you as this develops.

  • Hi Nigel,
I just had this from Buffer (below) and since I have become use to using Buffer integrated in WordPress I will miss it. So do I go back to pasting in link icons in a new block to every page or post or is there equivalent free social media posting software to integrate?
    Thank for your guidance.

I had a comment on Green Building Encyclopaedia page and it seems genuine enough So I took a look…….

    • Hi Brian, I have found that the majority of comments that arrive within a WordPress website are usually spam-related. The ones that aren’t are typically from people that I know. They often refer to something that I have written within that specific website.
You can either check through the comments on a regular basis and mark junk comments as spam…[Read more]

    Nigel

I have been asked to convert an in-house CPD to an Zoom CPD and as a recent speaker on a Zoom CPD not a host I wonder if its too complicated to do? I see you have been running Zoom events recently. What do you need to know to avoid disasters?

    • Thanks for asking this question, Brian. If you have a paid-for Zoom account, when you setup a Zoom meeting, there is an option to record the meeting. Within my Zoom Pro account, it says: ‘1GB of MP4 or M4A cloud recording’.
I am not sure whether the in-house session that you refer to has already happened?
With regards to avoiding disasters (!) you…[Read more]
